… including a man from Cuba who was visiting a friend in the village.
It was on Sat Sep 9, 2017 2pm – 4pm
It’s our campaign to restore Wing Maze and preserve our heritage.
You came with your secateurs, trowel, spade or any gadget to dig out weeds.
Tea and refreshments were on offer, plus an opportunity to enjoy the friendship that exists in Wing.
And we sheltered from the occasional shower under Gloria’s gazebo. Richard Tulloch, who was using a mattock(!) took all the debris away in his car.
“Following an invitation from Dennis and Gloria Whight to attend an “A’maze’ing Tea Party”, a group of dedicated Wingers turned out on a slightly damp Saturday afternoon to work on restoring the maze. Despite being regularly cut by the council, the maze had become rather overgrown and neglected. The working party dug out gutters, trimmed edges, pulled out weeds and washed all the paintwork to smarten up our village maze, all amply fed and watered by TeamWhight. Huge thanks to all those who turned out. ” Gloria Whight

But if you missed it you can help by turning up at any time and doing a bit of weeding.
And here are some photos of the inaugural meeting in Wing.
Thank you all for your interest in the group. Just to clear up some confusion. The expectation is that people will attend the session in their home village. However, if you enjoy the activities ( and the cake !) You are most welcome to attend both. £3:00 will be requested for each session you attend.
Our friends from Morcott and from other villages are very welcome to come along too.
Transport can be arranged for Wing and Manton residents on request, unfortunately, at present, we cannot extend this to other villages.

Following two very well attended public meetings, a committee was formed to manage the development of a Neighbourhood Plan for Wing. Nicky Littleton is the Chairman and Angela Harding is the Secretary ( harding11@btinternet.com)
As a committee, it is our role to enable residents and other interested parties to be able to have a say in what goes into the plan. If the Plan is to have relevance to our community, it is important that everyone feels able to get involved in deciding what goes into the plan.
What is important to you? Your family? Your clients?
Lots of information including minutes of meetings, is already available on the Wing website. www.wingrutland.uk
