Pancake Day Fun!
Around the group of 10 villages that make up Rutland Water Benefice, there was lots of fun and laughter as pancakes were flipped and filled with a range of delicious fillings.
Pancake or Shrove Tuesday is a day of celebration and penitence, it is the day before Lent begins.
Lent is 40 days before Easter when Christians prepare themselves for Christ’s Resurrection by giving up some things or food they enjoy. We make pancakes using up some of the food we might give up during Lent – and we have a bit of fun in the process.
Take a look at the video at this link and enjoy some spectacular flips! https://youtu.be/z3ekkeKambs

Brighten up your home with cheerful bulbs and raise funds for Wing Church. Beautiful bowls and pots of bulbs planted in the autumn are now ready for sale. The bulb varieties include bright red Alfred Cortot dwarf tulips, blue Muscari also known as grape hyacinth, dwarf iris and crocus and are offered in a range of combinations depending on the size of container.
If you wish to make a purchase, please either take a short detour up the drive of 1 Reeves Lane on your daily walk around the village where they can be viewed outside in plenty of fresh air or contact Jane Peach on firstname.lastname@example.org who can email you photos of your preferred bulbs in different sizes and containers for you to choose what you would like. We are inviting donations of around £3.50 for the 5in pots of bulbs ranging to £15 for larger planted decorative glass bowls and baskets. Payment can be made directly into the church bank account by BACS.
Many thanks for your support
Another reminder that Spring is coming ….
When the snow melts, enjoy a short detour through the Churchyard where the snowdrops should be up and looking wonderful. They will be followed by what is hoped will be a wonderful show of bulbs planted last autumn to enhance the beauty of our village.

Hello. I am on Wing Village Hall Management committee and I want to get a group of volunteers to help to paint walls and doors. The hall is in need of a facelift and it is a good opportunity to do it whilst it is closed.
I hope you can volunteer in your ‘bubble’, or even alone, and I will make sure all Covid rules will be met.
I do hope many of you will volunteer by contacting me at email@example.com
