Shrove Tuesday Pancake Competition 2022

Pancake Tuesday is on the 1^st March – so let’s get creative with our toppings and flipping!

Entry to the benefice competition is open to anyone in our villages – videos and photos can be sent to Jenni Duffy, curate at the Rutland Water Benefice, by Sunday 6^th March 2022 via email, dropbox, google or WhatsApp! curate.rwb@gmail.com 07507 442 539

The final compilation of videos and photos will be uploaded to Youtube and available for all to view. Prizes will be awarded for the best flip and most creative topping.

Wing Village Hall

6pm – 7:30pm every week from March 22nd

Class Description

A Feldenkrais-inspired Yoga class suitable for beginners. Drop-in is £10 per class. To fully participate in the class students will need to bring their own equipment.

Wing WI had a wonderfully interesting talk on what it means to be High Sherrif of a county – from Rutland’s current High Sheriff, our own David Wood.

David wore his full regalia, including silk stockings and a sword, to tell everyone about the role.

Although it was officially a WI meeting the ladies allowed several men to attend, and they enjoyed it.

Wing Village Hall is looking for a regular cleaner and/or caretaker.  Wing Village Hall is at the centre of village life and has enjoyed healthy rentals to local groups and families. We are currently seeking a local cleaner who is available for 1-2 hours a week to keep the hall clean and provisioned. The ideal candidate will be able to carry out other pre/post hire cleans as required. Competitive rates of hourly pay.

We are also seeking a caretaker who is available to show hirers around from time to time, ensure the hall is left secure and lights/heating turned off after use, rubbish disposed of and kitchen and toilets stocked as required.
