Saturday March 24, 2018 – Wing Village Hall
We have another musical event lined up for the Village Hall as above. This is not via Centre Stage on this occasion.
There is a licensed bar from 7.15pm. The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 each obtainable from John Hackett 01572 737394 firstname.lastname@example.org
There is a website www.andylawrenson.co.uk with lots more detail. Essentially this is a stylish, humorous and very entertaining portrayal of a style of music originally pioneered by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli in 1930’s Paris. Performed by three talented musicians on acoustic guitar, violin and double bass.
Numbers include ‘it had to be you’, ‘honeysuckle rose’, ‘fascinating rhythm’, ‘lady be good’, ‘moonglow’, ‘misty’, ‘sweet Georgia Brown’ and many others.
We are holding ‘drop ins’ where our Recovery Worker can signpost and assess the person’s needs and help with the support they require. An information ‘drop in’ in Uppingham at the Dolphin and Gerrard Court on Johnson Road, is held on Thursdays between 10am – 12noon, with other drops to follow.
Hi all. Carol singing around the village will be on Thursday 21st December. Everyone welcome regardless of ability – enthusiasm and Christmas spirit are all you need. 🎶. Start ( and finish) at the King’s Arms pub.
We have one spare place on this course on Saturday 18th November 9:30 to 3:30 with a bread at midday.

- Firm grasp of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved
- Understanding of how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling)
- Confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers
Food business operators must ensure that employees are supervised, instructed and trained in food hygiene matters in order to guarantee safe food to consumers.
This qualification demonstrates compliance with food safety law within licensed premises and is a ‘must have’ for anyone involved in food preparation and food service.
It is ideal for new employees with minimal or no prior food safety knowledge, employees handling low-risk or wrapped foods, front of house employees such as waiting or check out staff, and back of house employees such as kitchen porters or warehouse staff.
Level 2 focuses on food handling, preparation and cooking in various different settings. It looks at the systems, techniques and procedures involved in food safety, and gives an understanding of how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling). It gives learners the confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers.
There are no prerequisites for this course. It is ideally suited for anyone working in a catering setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled.
