Fire Prevention – it could affect you!

Diana Freeman of Oakham Police would like join a coffee morning and do a talk about Fire Prevention to our residents because of the fire we had in the village recently.

She is coming along with a member of the Fire Brigade to our regular coffee morning on the 23rd Feb between 10.30-12.00 to give advice and answer any questions.
Everybody is welcome to this important event.

THE BIRCH GOOD NEIGHBOUR SCHEME

THE BIRCH GOOD NEIGHBOUR SCHEME
We have volunteers who love calling in for a chat and a cuppa.Do you know anyone stuck at home, following a stay in hospital or has difficulty leaving the house to meet people ?

  • Why not give us a call ?
Dripping tap driving you mad ?
  • We may have someone who can help, give us a call.
  • Car off the road, need shopping? For a contribution towards the cost of petrol, maybe we can help.

Telephone us on:   07539 707623

PREPARED CITIZEN INITIATIVE

See our previous post.

The Birch Good Neighbour scheme see this as a natural progression from our current service. We would love existing  volunteers to consider getting involved.

Registering an interest commits you to NOTHING, it would be useful to have a pool of volunteers willing to help neighbours in a range of situations.

Joanne has the details and hopes to hear from you.It sits within the ‘Prepared Communities’ programme

Cis. Boothby RIP

It is great sadness we report the death of Cis. Boothby.  Her funeral will be on 16 February. Funeral 11:00 Wing Church, afterwards at the village hall .

She was such a lovely lady and, in her prime, would help anyone. Always cheerful, and with a beautiful smile. She was also a great supporter of any fundraising events in the Village. Our thoughts must be with her son, Nick.
