Wing Village Hall 100 Club

Wing Village Hall is a valuable community facility in the centre of our village. It serves as a place to host village events and private parties and provides a useful meeting place for all members of the community.
The 100 Club is a means of supporting Wing Village Hall and helps to meet the substantial costs of running and maintaining the building. The hall is solely funded by the money raised from events, hall hire and the 100 Club. The generous contributions of club members last year brought in ยฃ1935. Prize draws take place monthly at the Village Hall Thursday Coffee Morning. There are eleven monthly draws with prizes of ยฃ25, ยฃ15, and ยฃ10 and a Christmas draw of ยฃ100, ยฃ50, and ยฃ25.
If you would like to support the Village Hall please join or renew your subscription (ยฃ15) either by:

  1. Using online banking using the Village Hallโ€™s account details:
    Account: Wing Community Centre
    Sort Code: 20-49-17
    Account Number: 2085 9591
    Payment Reference: YOUR SURNAME 100
If using this method, please email Paul Brewer on ticktock58@gmail.com to advise him of your name and address and your wish to renew/join so that he can ensure you are entered in the draw.
    Or
  2. Make a ยฃ15 payment by cheque to Wing Village Hall writing 100 Club and your address on the back of the cheque.
Cheques can either be delivered to Paul Brewer 2 Mill Close, Wing, LE15 8RH or to Judith Oakley, 6 Top Street, Wing.
Your subscription will enable us to maintain a viable hall, available for village events or personal hire, for the benefit of all members of our community. Thank you.

Wing Parish Neighbourhood Plan Referendum – Thursday, 29 February 2024

What is the Neighbourhood Plan?

The Plan is a document that:

  • Sets out policies relating to housing; the environment and community
sustainability that are to be used by Rutland County Council and Wing Parish Council when evaluating planning applications in the Parish; so it carries real legal weight.
  • Has been developed by residents of Wing at the request of the Parish Council, rather than the Local Planning Authority (Rutland County Council); it therefore reflects the priorities and wishes of people living and working in Wing, as far as is possible within the context of planning regulations and requirements.

What is the question on the Ballot Paper?

‘Do you want Rutland County Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for the Parish of Wing to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’

What would a YES vote mean?

If the Plan is successful at Referendum (that is, if a simple majority vote YES) it will then be ‘made’ (adopted) by Rutland County Council. This means it will become part of the Development Plan for this area, against which planning applications will be assessed.

What would a NO vote mean?

If a simple majority vote NO to the Plan, the local protections and conditions stated in the Plan Policies will not apply and Rutland County Council will make planning decisions based solely upon Rutland-wide and national policies.
