BELL RINGING ON D DAY – 6th June 2024


A small band of ringers from Wing and neighbouring villages gathered to ring the bells in Wing this evening in commemoration of the D Day landings.

D Day Commemoration Bells


The church bells will be rung on Thursday 6th June between 7PM and 7.30 PM to commemorate the D Day landings on the beaches of Normandy 80 years ago. The landings were the largest seaborne invasion in history and laid the foundations for the Allied victory in World War Two.

Manton Tunnel: Marking the centenary 24 May 1924


Descendants of John Cockerill and George Buckby, representatives of Network Rail and the RMT Union, the railway chaplain for the area, press, and the Railway Work, Life & Death project’s Mike Esbester all gathered to pause and remember the accident.

Wing WI Thursday June 13th – The Story of Thomas Cook 


The talk will be given by Richard Warren. The evening starts at 7pm in Wing Village Hall. All visitors are most welcome (£5 entry includes refreshments and raffle ticket) WI members free.
