Last night a lovely Land Rover Defender 90 had it’s bonnet, doors and other item removed and stolen right outside houses on Top Street.
You would think the noise created would have disturbed people in their sleep, but it seems not. These vehicles are particularly prone to this type of theft. There are additional security measures you can take and are well worth the effort. Land Rover forums on the web have loads of advice about this.

Wing Church has been beautifully decorated for our Harvest Service which we celebrated today, Sunday 13th October, and the Church will be unlocked each day this week for anyone who would like to come and see the fabulous arrangements.
Father Christmas and his sleigh will tour the village to admire the decorated windows and will meet Wing children at the Village Hall for Hot chocolate and cupcakes and a small gift before everyone joins some Wing Wassailing.
Competitions including: Decorated Wing Windows: • Best Christmas Window • Find the mistletoe • Guess the Christmas Carol Window Other favourites (in the Village Hall) • Best Mince Pie • Worst Christmas jumper • Santa’s Sack lucky dip for Wing Children • Wassail round the Christmas tree • Guess the weight of the hamper

The National Rural Crime Network is supporting the Rural Crime Week of Action being organised by the National Police Chiefs’ Council and forces across the country.
The aim of the week is to put the work being done to identify and tackle rural and wildlife crime in the spotlight and encourage more support for the efforts ensure communities across rural Britain are safe and feel safe.
Julia Mulligan, Chair of the National Rural Crime Network, said:
“Rural communities are too often ignored by those in positions of power because they’re hidden from view. I hope this Week of Action allows us to shine a light on the issues they face with crime and anti-social behaviour challenges just like any other part of the country, but also being more vulnerable because of their isolation and distance from support services of all kinds.
“Despite the passionate and professional police officers who serve communities day-in, day-out, we need government and all national organisations to better understand, represent and stand up for the 10.3 million people who live in rural areas.”
The National Rural Crime Network’s last national survey in 2018 examined the true state of crime and policing in rural communities. Its findings can be seen at www.nationalruralcrimenetwork.net/survey.

We are planning a
Village Hall disco evening to see in the New Year.
Why not come and join
village friends and acquaintances and bring friends if you’d like to.
From 9pm onwards for an
evening of nostalgic music of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
We’d like several volunteers with a penchant for DJ’ing to put together a playlist each of their favourite disco party music which they will then DJ to the assembled party-goers – no getting off lightly – you will be Dj’ing your choices. There will be snacks available for those that feel they didn’t have enough dinner before they came and then a glass of fizz at midnight.
If the weather permits
we may be able to conga round the car park and have our own outdoor rendering
of Auld Lang Syne.
This will be a ticketed
event to help us gauge numbers and it will be nominal cost. If you are able to
