Over the past few weeks there have been a number of bad attacks on sheep by dogs off-lead in Wing in Gregory’s Acre Field known locally as the Sledging Field.
Today, Saturday 28th November, around 3pm a lamb was seriously attacked leading to it having to be removed back to Wing Hall Farm where it is slowly recovering.
It is against the law to allow dogs off lead in fields with livestock and sadly someone has torn off the National Farmers Union/Kennel Club yellow signs on the gate style which states this law. The signs will be replaced next week.
This field is privately owned with a Public Right of Way that runs alongside the hedge on the right of the field. Please dog owners adhere to the Country Code and keep your dogs on a short lead in fields with livestock and protect our sheep.
