Saddle Up With the Sherriff


High Sheriff’s Family Fun Day in support of Air Ambulance at

Barrowden Village Green.

Bank Holiday Monday 28th August from 11.00am.

11.00 Family Cycle Ride from the Exeter Arms taking in Harringworth, Wakerley and back to Barrowden. Register in front of the Exeter Arms from 10.30. Any children under 14 to be accompanied by a responsible adult. Entry fee of £5 for adults, and £2.50 for each young person under 16. To include bottled water, a banana and sweets for exhausted finishers, plus a Sheriff’s posse badge !

11.15 Junior cycle ride within the village for children aged 8 and under. No entry fee, but a responsible adult to be in charge of each child.

12.00 Family Fun Day begins.

12.30 Table tennis competition.

1.00 Petanque competition /demo to be run by Pete Coleman in the pub garden.

1.30 Defibrillator demo on the green to be run by Stuart and Sally Brown.

1.45 onwards Children’s races on the Village Green to be run by Chris and Sara Barrett.

2.00 Tai Chi on the village green will commence with a demonstration from some real experts in the Art of Tai Chi.

2.15 Anticipated fly past by 2 RAF Spitfires, subject to weather conditions, and the engineers confirming that Merlin engines are all air worthy. Keep an eye on the media. We have our fingers and toes crossed.

In addition, we hope you will fully support and enjoy the following throughout the day:-

Classic Cars, Military Vehicles, Tombola, a Stall selling previously loved designer and branded ladies’ clothing, Plant stall, Cake stall, Pimms Stand, afternoon teas and cakes, Burgers, Ice Creams, Skittles, Flip Flop Fling, Pillory, Penalty Shoot Out.

Live music at the Exeter Arms which will be open for the sale of food and drinks all day.

SPOT and STOP FRAUDSTERS INFORMATION MEETING

WING Village Hall is hosting a presentation about personal fraud prevention. Local Agencies are funding sessions to offer advice to individuals to reduce the risk of becoming a Victim of Fraud.

Come and hear Sue Renton on THURSDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER. at 11:30am  and pick up some useful tips.

YES, sadly, we can all become victims of fraud. Hopefully, this session can stop it being you.
