The Parish Council Now Have Their Own Website


Wing Parish Council has established its own website to report on Parish Council business and meetings. All future notices, agendas and minutes will be disseminated and available from the Council’s website, and no longer from the Wing Community website.

Meetings in the Village Hall


Can ALL the events that plan to use the Village Hall, even the Parish Council, the Village Hall Committee, and the Neighbourhood Plan, although they use the hall without charge, please make a booking through the Booking Clerk, Sarah O’Boyle, as although the public are welcome as observers, they usually are only are aware of these meetings via word of mouth. All bookings should appear on the Events Calendar.

Bryan Spooner, acting Wing Parish Council Chairman, presents  Parish Clerk, Susan Awcock with a bouquet of flowers to thank her for all the hard work she has done over the past few years. Susan is leaving the job of Parish Clerk and will be very sadly missed.

In particular Wing, has Susan to thank for her expertise in gaining the village grants for the new play equipment on the playing field.

We all wish Susan very best wishes for the future.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

Pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, that following the resignation of Richard Tulloch, a vacancy now exists in the Office of Councillor for Wing Parish Council.

If by 6 July 2017 (14 days* after the date of this Notice), a request for an election to fill the said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at Catmose, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 6HP by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

If an election is held, it will take place not later than 11 September 2017.

* In computing any period of time for this purpose, a Saturday, Sunday, day of the Christmas break, of the Easter break or of a bank holiday or day appointed for public thanksgiving or mourning must be disregarded.

“The Christmas break” means the period beginning with the last week day before Christmas Eve and ending with the first week day after Christmas Day which is not a bank holiday, “the Easter break” means the period beginning with the Thursday before and ending with the Tuesday after Easter Day, and “a bank holiday break” means any bank holiday not included in the Christmas break or Easter break and the period beginning with the last week day before that bank holiday and ending with the next week day which is not a bank holiday.
